LGV C1+E (7.5t and Trailer) Driver Training Courses - Covering Winchester, Eastleigh, Portsmouth, Fareham, Southampton, Hampshire
We provide LGV C1+E (medium goods vehicle and trailer) driver training courses to enable company's and individuals to tow a trailer with a goods vehicle between 3500kg and up to 7500kg.
The LGV C1+E licence is for drivers who hold the C1 licence who passed their car driving test after January 1st 1997. And for drivers who already hold the C1+E licence on acquired rights. (pre 1st Jan 1997) with the 8250kg train weight restriction, requiring the restriction to be lifted to 12000kg.

3. Call us - Book your Cat C1+E driving course or assessment so we can assess how long a course you will require.
4. Theory test - Book and pass the LGV theory tests
5. Training course - Start your LGV C1+E training course.

The LGV C1+E driving test is conducted at the DSA large goods vehicle driving test centre with an off road manoeuvring area. The test lasts about 90 minutes. A VERY HIGH standard of driving is required to pass this type of test.
Course: LGV C1+E Medium goods vehicle with a MAM over 3500kg and under 7500kg and trailer. Location: Southampton
Age: 18+ For drivers 18+ who passed their car driving test (cat B) after January 1st 1997. and wish to drive a lorry with a MAM over 3500kg and under 7500kg. And hold the LGV C1.
Course length: 12 to 30 Hours
LGV C1+E driver training courses are between 12 and 30 hours duration depending upon your driving experience and ability to fully prepare you for the DSA LGV C1+E driving test standard.
Typically this can be done between 2 and 5 days in duration.
Medical: Take the LGV medical
Apply for your provisional LGV C1+E licence entitlement Theory Test: Pass the LGV theory and Hazard perception tests. Test Criteria:
Answer 5 questions relating to basic safety and loading of the vehicle.
Complete an `S` shaped reversing exercise accurately and safely.
Drive on road drive for about an hour in varying roads and traffic conditions including motorways where possible.
Complete an Independent drive, uphill, downhill and angled starts
Demonstrate a high standard of driving throughout.
Drivers who got their drivers licence after September 1997 will be required to do the driver initial CPC before they can drive for hire and reward.
The initial CPC consists of two parts, module 2 theory case study and module 4 practical test.
LGV Category C1+E (7.5t and Trailer)
Our category C1+E driver training vehicle is an easy to drive VW LT 46 and Ifor Williams box van trailer, it has the advantage of being small and manoeuvrable, with simple controls, brakes and gears, whilst meeting all DSA requirements to gain your LGV C1+E licence.
IMPORTANT: When looking for a training provider make sure you know how many hours you are getting per day. Many providers are quoting " Price per day " but the day is typically only 3 to 3.5 hours duration.
